My name is Ash Galhotra, and I’m running for the Chardon School Board this November because I believe in strong schools, transparent leadership, and a thriving future for every child in our community.

My wife and I have lived in Chardon since 2020 with our three kids. We’ve fallen in love with the area and now enjoy life on a small farm with our chickens, a dog, and a cat who all help keep things lively!

About 5 years ago, we started 'K9 Cleveland' in Downtown Cleveland—a dog daycare, boarding, and grooming facility. It’s more than a business; it’s a hands-on way for our kids to learn entrepreneurship, responsibility, and the value of hard work. 

When we're not helping the kids with homework or driving to activities, you’ll find us outdoors exploring local restaurants, trails, biking, RVing, or gathered around a bonfire with friends and neighbors (yeah we have some awesome neighbors!). Chardon has become home in every sense of the word, and I’m proud to give back by serving this community.

Professional Experience

I bring over 25 years of global experience in corporate leadership, operations, and safety — with a strong focus on systems improvement, risk management, and legal compliance. My work has spanned industries and continents, always with a focus on creating safe, sustainable, and efficient operations, these skills translate directly into strong governance and support for our schools.

Current Role: Global Director, The Sherwin-Williams Company (Cleveland, OH) — 2010 to Present

Past Experience: (1) Engineer, Corning Inc. — 2006 to 2010 

(2) Project Engineer, Punj Lloyd — 2000 to 2005 (3) Trainee / CNC operator in BHEL - 1997

Community & Civic Engagement:

Education has always been at the heart of my values. Outside of the corporate world, I’ve proudly served in several leadership and advisory roles focused on student success and public safety:

Board Member, Minds Matter Cleveland — a nonprofit helping low-income students get into college. (100% college acceptance rate!)

With my professional background and community involvement, I’m ready to bring a practical, forward-thinking approach to the Chardon School Board — grounded in integrity, collaboration, and a deep commitment to our kids.
